Adopter has been named Employer of the Year at Durham University’s Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Awards 2025. Adopter’s Helena Tagg also won the Internship & Vacation Work Award and the overall Student Employee of the Year Award.
About the SEOTY Awards
The SEOTY Award celebrates organisations that champion student development and provide exceptional opportunities for early career growth. Adopter was recognised for its commitment to nurturing the next generation of green-tech talent. Through close collaboration with Durham University, Adopter has provided student interns with hands-on experience in green-tech digital marketing, offering expert mentorship and equipping them with essential professional skills. We’re incredibly proud of our creative and supportive work environment, which enables students to develop professionally whilst contributing to our mission of accelerating green technology adoption.
Celebrating Student Achievement
The evening also saw Adopter’s own Helena Tagg take home both the Internship & Vacation Work Award and the overall Student Employee of the Year Award. Helena joined Adopter as a Content Marketing Intern during her undergraduate studies and quickly became a key contributor. Her proactive approach, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to delivering high-quality work have made a lasting impact on Adopter. We’re thrilled to see her dedication and growth celebrated.
Matt’s Reflections
At the awards ceremony, Adopter’s co-founder Matt Jaworski delivered a keynote address that highlighted the central role of talent development in driving Adopter’s mission. Reflecting on his own journey - from student employee, to founder, to mentor - Matt shared insights on how investing in student talent fuels innovation and drives lasting impact.
Reflecting on the event, Matt commented:
“I’m incredibly proud of the entire Adopter team, whose commitment to collaboration and mentorship made this recognition possible. I’m also thrilled to see Helena’s dedication and achievements celebrated! My time at Durham was truly formative, and it’s a real privilege to give back by supporting the next generation of students. Watching student employees grow, contribute meaningfully, and help advance our mission of accelerating green-tech adoption is an extremely rewarding part of our work, and central to our workplace philosophy.”
